Gaby on a small German list of 12 people asked at the beginning of 2007 if every member would make 12 series of each 12 inchies (2.5x2.5 cm, or 1"x1"). We have to finished at the end of 2007 so that we all send our inchies 1-2 days before Christmas. The idea is to build something very personal and create may be a calendar or some decoration for 2008.

We all agreed to participate because it is fun, we know each other well and that is something really nice to strengthen our friendship.

Gaby made a list, each of us chosed a theme (or a color, or whatever!) for a month.

That is the result of this inchies-swap 2007!

I decided to make all my inchies with the sewing-machine, using programmed stitches or free-machine-stitching. There are really lots of threads on those tiny squares, sometimes i changed the thread of the bobbin 5-7 times! Just imagine! They were not done "quickly" because they have plenty of stitching in them.
This was the challenge I wanted for myself, and I also wanted that the other participants see: my inchies are building an harmonious "set" . On a serie a stitched over yarns or wool-rowing, or on loose threads from my dyings, there are many different materials hidden or integrated in those mini-mini-works of art!
That was much fun.
